Greetings, lovers of all that is artistic and good.
Well, a biography, how exciting!
Here is a bit about me!
First of all, I feel obliged to explain the somewhat questionable above photo! I was in Rome and had been tramping around the streets all day in 37 degree heat, wearing sandals with soles so thin that I couldn't stand still for more than 5 seconds without getting burnt feet. Suddenly, the sky turned a purpley-grey colour and lo and behold, the heavens opened and the most spectacular thunderstorm imaginable commenced! I challenge anyone not to dance in the rain if presented with the aforementioned situation!! But anyway, now that that's cleared up...
I am 19, I live in Truro, Cornwall (UK (Earth (The Solar System))) with my mum and younger brother, James, where I have at last converted my room to something of a studio! Hopefully I'll have lots of work to do. I currently work as a cleaner to support myself (plus occasionally as a face-painter).
I can totally honestly say that art is my passion, so that's point number 1! You should also know that I am a bit eccentric (if you haven't yet figured that out for yourself), and that I strive (possibly a little too much) for perfection! My style, I suppose, varies, between the very traditional side of art to more illustrative, craft-based work. So hopefully something for everyone!! But it usually includes people in some shape or form...
I have recently finished my final year of full-time college, where I studied Fine Art, History of Art, English, Printmaking, Psychology, Health and Social Care and Drama (spread in various lengths of time over three years). Currently, I am doing a bit o' freelance portraits and illustrations, and still go to college for a couple of lectures a week, as I'm taking the second year of History of Art. I am also gathering inspiration on Pinterest at the moment, so if you happen to frequent the pinning world, and are interested in art, then do find me - I'm the only Beth Uglow there!!
Happy hugs, or a hearty courtesy, for those of you who are that way inclined.
